Treatment Trainers:
Laura Murray, Ph.D., Treatment Trainer for Drs. Cohen and Mannarino's Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) study, has conducted numerous trainings on TF-CBT, AF-CBT and TF-CBT-CTG, both nationally and internationally. Dr. Murray has extensive experience in training therapists of diverse cultural backgrounds to implement, adopt, and adapt Drs. Cohen and Mannarino's models for children and families in community settings. She has and continues to provide extensive international training and direct clinical care in Africa, Romania, and for the World Health Organization/World Psychiatric Association.
Esther Deblinger, Ph.D. is a widely respected researcher at the New Jersey CARES Institute, University of Medicine and Dentistry-New Jersey, who, with Drs. Cohen and Mannarino, developed, standardized and evaluated the TF-CBT model over the past 20 years. Together they conducted the largest randomized controlled trial ever published with traumatized children, which was the first to demonstrate the efficacy of any treatment model for multiple traumatized children. Dr. Deblinger has published extensively on this subject and has delivered numerous local and regional presentations on TF-CBT.
Amy Hoch, Psy.D. is a psychologist licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania who is currently Program Development Specialist at the University of Medicine and Dentistry-New Jersey's CARES Institute where she specializes in working with children and famlies who have experienced sexual abuse and other traumas. She also provides community education and professional workshops on such topics as identification and treatment of sexual abuse, dissociation, postraumatic stress disorder, dating violence, and sexual assault.
David Kolko, Ph.D. is an acclaimed researcher in the study and treatment of disruptive behavior disorders and children's antisocial behavior. He is Professor of Psychiatry, Psychology and Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh and Director of the Special Services Unit (SSU) of Allegheny County, where he is involved with the SAFE program. SAFE provides therapeutic and probationary services to children adjudicated of a sexual offense as well as services to their families. Much of his research funding is provided by the National Institutes for Health. He is currently concluding a 10-year longitudinal study on the treatment of childhood disruptive behavior disorders.
Barbara Baumann, Ph.D. Research Instructor in Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, works closely with Dr. Kolko in the successful dissemination and evaluation of evidence-based treatment for child physical abuse and in building community collaborations to bridge science and practice. Her research foucses on child abuse prevention, community-academic partnerships, and clinician training. She has conducted workshops with various community mental health agencies to teach practitioners the skills needed to implement Alternatives for Families: A Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (AF-CBT) and ocntinues to provide consultations in AF-CBT to several of these agencies.

March 1-4, 2010: NCTSN All Network Meeting, New Orleans, LA
Judith Cohen, M.D. and Anthony Mannarino, Ph.D. will once again participate, as well as present, at this annual meeting. As the name of the meeting implies, this is a collaboration among the NCTSN's nationwide network of nearly 100 centers, which work together to advance the understanding and treatment of child traumatic stress. The theme for the 2010 meeting is "Building Trauma-Informed Child Service Systems: Strengthening the Foundations of Public Health.”
March 4-7, 2010: ADAA Conference, Baltimore, MD
The 30th Annual Conference of the Anxiety Disorders Association of America (ADAA) will focus on improving the diagnosis and treatment of Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Judith Cohen, M.D. will present "Treating PTSD in Children Exposed to Violence" as well as conduct a three hour training on treating PTSD in children and adolescents.
March 18-19, 2010: Jewish Family and Children's Services, San Francisco
Judith Cohen, M.D. will conduct a TF-CBT training to mental health professionals.
March 29-31, 2010: Los Angeles, CA
Anthony Mannarino, Ph.D. will be conducting a TF-CBT training in Los Angeles for the California Institute of Mental Health.
April 14-16, 2010: Little Rock, AR
Anthony Mannarino, Ph.D. will conduct a TF-CBT training. Additional details will be provided closer to the training dates.
April 19-21, 2010: Bethany Christian Services, Grand Rapids, MI
David Kolko, Ph.D. and Barbara Baumann, Ph.D. will conduct a two-day abuse focused cognitive behavioral therapy (AF-CBT) training to staff at Bethany Christian Services of Grand Rapids.
