Treatment Trainers:
Laura Murray, Ph.D., Treatment Trainer for Drs. Cohen and Mannarino's Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) study, has conducted numerous trainings on TF-CBT, AF-CBT and TF-CBT-CTG, both nationally and internationally. Dr. Murray has extensive experience in training therapists of diverse cultural backgrounds to implement, adopt, and adapt Drs. Cohen and Mannarino's models for children and families in community settings. She has and continues to provide extensive international training and direct clinical care in Africa, Romania, and for the World Health Organization/World Psychiatric Association.
Esther Deblinger, Ph.D. is a widely respected researcher at the New Jersey CARES Institute, University of Medicine and Dentistry-New Jersey, who, with Drs. Cohen and Mannarino, developed, standardized and evaluated the TF-CBT model over the past 20 years. Together they conducted the largest randomized controlled trial ever published with traumatized children, which was the first to demonstrate the efficacy of any treatment model for multiple traumatized children. Dr. Deblinger has published extensively on this subject and has delivered numerous local and regional presentations on TF-CBT.
David Kolko, Ph.D. is an acclaimed researcher in the study and treatment of disruptive behavior disorders and children's antisocial behavior. He is Professor of Psychiatry, Psychology and Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh and Director of the Special Services Unit (SSU) of Allegheny County, where he is involved with the SAFE program. SAFE provides therapeutic and probationary services to children adjudicated of a sexual offense as well as services to their families. Much of his research funding is provided by the National Institutes for Health. He is currently concluding a 10-year longitudinal study on the treatment of childhood disruptive behavior disorders.
Upcoming Trainings/Conferences:
As part of Drs. Cohen and Mannarino's newly funded study by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, regional TF-CBT trainings in residential treatment facilities will be scheduled throughout the year. As details concerning training dates and locations become available, information will be posted here.
The aims of the study are to train clinicians in RTFs across Pennsylvania in TF-CBT and to measure outcomes in children.

Anthony Mannarino, Ph.D. will be chairing the symposium "Evidence-based treatment for traumatized children and their families" on August 13.
August 16-18, 2010: TF-CBT Training, Los Angeles, CA
Anthony Mannarino, Ph.D. and Judith Cohen, M.D. are conducting a two-day trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) training for the Department of Mental Health as part of their efforts to disseminate the treatment throughout Los Angeles County.
October 26-31, 2010: 57th Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, New York, New York
Judith Cohen, M.D. will be conducting several presentations at AACAP's annual meeting including "Implementing trauma-focused CBT in a community domestic violence setting," and "The ABCs of domains of trauma impact." She and Anthony Mannarino, Ph.D. are scheduled to present "Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy: Community, foster, and residential settings." Dr. Mannarino will also be chairing a clinical consultation breakfast entitled "Treating traumatized children with complicated presentations" while Dr. Cohen will chair the symposium "Opening Pandora's box safely: An interdisciplinary approach to traumatized inpatient teens" on the last day of the program.
